Mojo Monday #90

I’m feeling pretty chuffed with myself this morning because thanks to the template from Mojo Monday I’ve finally finished the six card that I have to make for Dad’s birthday and Father’s day.

June always looms like a big black cloud for me, not because I don’t enjoy making cards for dad, far from it…..it’s more to do with coming up with six completely different ideas. Added to that I also have lots of other family and friends birthdays in June and one of those I also have to make three cards for so you can see why I find June daunting.

Well, this year I’ve finished all dad’s cards with thirteen days to spare and all my other ‘June’ cards are done too…phew!

Anyway, as I said, the card is made using this weeks template from Mojo Monday

and three of the new My Minds Eye papers from Andrea Victoria with some added faux stitching and doodling.

Oh....I'm Back..........again!

Hi all, it’s me again…….did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth?
Well I won’t bore you all by prattling on about my flood again but that’s the reason there’s not been much crafting going on and you haven’t seen be around again this week.

I eventually got my craft bits out yesterday though and made a few Easter cards which was great because Jo’s theme for the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is to use Bunnies and Chicks on our cards.

The first five cards are all made using a selection of really pretty Doodlebug papers, coordinating shaped brads, cardstock stickers, fancy frills stickers and a few added extras from my ever growing stash.

Added Extras: - Do Crafts, textured square cards, Craft Creations White card stock, Ribbon.
Tools: - Round Scalloped & Classic Nestabilities, Woodware Corner Rounder, and Printer (for greeting)
Inks: - Martha Stewart Pigment Ink Stack

Added Extras: - Craft Creations card blank, Ribbon, K & Co Stripy Brads
Tools: - Martha Stewart Cosmos Paper Punch, Printer (for greeting)
Inks: - Martha Stewart Pigment Ink Stack

Added Extras: - Craft Creations card blank, Ribbon, Silk and Paper Flowers, Tiny Gems (Anita’s)
Tools: - Paper Pricker (for faux stitching) Printer (for greeting)
Inks: - Ranger Distress Ink

Added Extras: - Craft Creations card blank, Sticky Ribbon,
Tools: - Printer (for greeting)
Inks: - Martha Stewart Pigment Ink Stack

Added Extras: - Do Crafts textured square card, Stickles Glitter Glue
Tools: - Clear Stamps (Candyfloss Bunny) Prisma Color Pencils,
Inks: - Martha Stewart Pigment Ink Stack

My last two cards were stamped using various pegs from two sets of Tapestry Stamps.

This one fits in with the Tanda Teaser last week which was called Pushing Daises. Unfortunately my daises weren’t stamped but the backing to the cross and the edging around the large oval was so I hope that’s ok and it will pass muster.
Added Extras: - Craft Creations Hammer card blank, Stickles Glitter Glue
Tools: - Xcuts Large & Small Flower paper punch. Tapestry Stamps (Pottery Garden & Porcelain Bouquet) Printer (for greeting)
Inks: - Decorating Chalks, Versa Magic & Martha Stewart Pigment Ink Stack

And for this last one I decided to have a little play with one of the Kabuka Moulds from my TENsecond Studio prize and used it to emboss in my Cuttlebug…..I think it worked really well!
Added Extras: - Craft Creations Hammer card blank, Stickles Glitter Glue
Tools: - Cuttlebug, Kabuka Mould, Tapestry Stamps (Pottery Garden & Porcelain Bouquet) Printer (for greeting)
Inks: - Decorating Chalks, Versa Magic & Martha Stewart Pigment Ink Stack

And there you have it, a little collection of Easter Cards……I hope it was worth waiting for!

I’m not sure when I will be back.
The appointment for my knee op was originally going to be on Good Friday but I had a letter this morning to say that they have brought it forward to the 7th April now. So now next week will be a busy one with the pre op stuff, then the dentist and best of all Lythan will be coming to play on Monday.

See you all soon……..I hope!

DCM - 3rd Anniversary

I’m really late with my Daring Cardmakers little extra card this week because I’ve not been crafting much over the weekend and stayed over at my friend Susan’s house on Monday. However…..I have managed to make my card this morning and have now added it the DCM blog.

This is the 5th week in our ‘Anniversary’ series and the Anniversary is the 3rd, so that means making a card with leather, crystal or glass on.

I didn’t have much in the way of crystal or glass and come to think of it not much in leather either but I did have a little leather handbag that I really love but has honestly seen better days. I’ve been meaning to chuck it for ages but couldn’t bring myself to do it so this dare has given me a reason to re-cycle it……even if it did bring tease to my eyes as I took the scissors to it!

Anyway, here’s my card. Sorry the picture’s not great but it’s chucking it down at the moment and the light is not good.

The papers are from my new Costso Memory Stor kit and the stamp is from Tanda’s Transport Set 1.
The big brads were from my ever growing stash.

Papertake - For the Fella's

The Papertake challenge this week is called 'One For The Fella's'

We have Fathers Day coming up, here in the UK so this weeks challenge is to make a mans card! The card can be for any occasion as long as it's for a man!
I decided to go with the Father's Day card as I still have some to make for the shop.

Here's my effort:
The papers are Basic Grey - Color Me Silly with some doodling added.
All the letters, tags and the circle were cut on Roberta Robo and the brads are from my stash.

Sketch This - Cards (51)

Here’s a place I’ve not visited for a while…..Sketch This . It’s a great place to visit if you’re looking for templates, be it for cards or layouts.

I thought it was about time I had another go at the latest card templates and found that it would work well with an idea I had for a Father’s Day card.

This is what I came up with. It’s just something very simple but I think it works!

The papers I’ve used for this are all Crate - Taylor Collection.
I started off by covering the card with the pale Blue card having already printed the greeting on it using my computer. I then inked the edges and added some doodled dots around the edge. The two tags are die cuts from the same paper kit and I’ve attached them both with brads and some ribbon from my stash. I’ve added some more doodling and a ‘Letraset’ rub-on greeting.
Finally I cut the letters on Roberta Robo and attached them to the card on spirals of wire so that move about.

My knight in shining armour

The challenge over at Papertake this week is to make a card using this template.

I decided to go with a Father’s day theme as it’s coming up in the next couple of weeks and I needed to get a few cards made to fill my basket in the local chemist.
Here's my card:
I’ve used Tanda’s Medievel Knights Set 1 for my images, stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with fine detail Silver embossing powder.

There’s also some dry embossing in there too, as three of the mats have been through my Cuttlebug, using various embossing folders.
