There's nothing on my Work Desk this Wednesday!

You’ll have already noticed if you’ve checked out my blog over the last few weeks that I’ve not been updating it. This has been mainly due to the fact that I’ve not been crafting, well very little anyway.

I’m being plagued by migraines caused by eye strain so crafting has been kept to only things that are really necessary and I’ve even stepped down from the daring Cardmakers design team for a while to ease the strain.
I’m really not sure at all when I’ll be able to get to it again but I’m hoping that my new vari focal glasses when they eventually arrive will go some way to helping the situating.

So for now there’ll be no photos of my work desk because there’s nothing going on there but I’ll still be round to check out what everyone else is up to, even if I don’t comment on everyone’s.
Can’t believe how may of you are joining in now and it takes nearly all week to get round everyone.

Also added to the stress of the above, my 86 year old dad was rushed to A & E on Saturday with a suspected blocked bowel and is still in hospital. He’s in so much pain, which they don’t seem to be able to control and I hate seeing him like that, it makes you feel so helpless.

Can’t say I’m impressed with his treatment so far either.
It seems that everything shuts down over the bank holiday weekend so dad’s still waiting for a CT scan so they can find out exactly what’s going on. First they told me it would be done on Tuesday and then they changed their mind and said Monday. Then it was back to Tuesday again and when I went to see him yesterday afternoon he said they had cancelled it again because of an emergency and it’s now supposed to be being done this morning. Not only that, you can’t find anyone to tell you what’s going on, so it’s a sorry state of affair if you ask me.

Well, I’m off out to do a quick spot of shopping now and then it’s up to the hospital but I’ll be back later if I get time to check out your desks. And just because I’m not join in this week it doesn’t mean you can’t so get on over to Julia’s Blog and join in the fun.

Have a good week
Sue

Gah Sue, poor you. Hope the new glasses sort it out. After all you've been through, you could do with a break from migraine huh.
Wishes for your dear Dad..my Mum in Law recently unexpectedly in hospital too - a weekend is NOT a good time to be there.

Hi Sue - Sorry to hear about your poor dad - lets hope by the time you get back to your blogging - the hospital have actually done something about getting him the scan - is there a chance you can get in touch with the patient rep at the hosp - if one exists... its very frustrating and distressing to see a loved one in pain and no one seems to be doing anything about it. BH and weekends it seems hospital like to kick you out. I was discharged 4 days after having thorasic surgery, although my auntie says the longer you stay in, the higher the risk of catching something you didn't go in with... my uncle had both MRSA and Streptacoccle - neither of which he went in with...

hope your migraines also ease up as soon as - hoping that your glasses do make a difference for you.

take care, somethings just have to take a back seat sometimes, as long as you are looking after yourself, thats the main thing.

ounds like you are having a tough old time of it :( I fully know where you are coming from with Dr's and hospitals. For one reason and another I have completely lost all faith in them, mainly as to how my Mum was treated before she passed away.

I do hope you and your Dad start to get better soon.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad ...maybe you need to shout a bit. I know that one never wants to make a fuss but its the ones that do, that seem to get things done...if only to keep them quiet.

Take care of yourself too ...hope you get back to crafting soon.

I'm so sorry to hear about the migraines - I saw on DCM that you were having to step down for a while - and sorry too to hear about dad - hope the scan has now been done and they can treat him and make him feel more comfortable - you're certainly right about weekends in hospital - John and I hated them. Sending you lots of hugs xx
