Where’s Mr. Blue Sky gone? WOYWW (#122)

I suppose I shouldn’t complain because we were given that extra week of beautiful scorching hot weather last week but why does the temperature have to drop by more than 10 degrees in one fail swoop.
I’m freeeeezzzzing…..........….ok that is an exaggeration, but it does feel flipping cold and I’m even contemplating putting the heating on.

I’ve been busy since last we spoke, making Christmas cards, setting up templates for the Wedding Stationery and also playing with a few of my new goodies.

I’ve even been setting up another blog.

I know I already have two, this one and Family Footprints in the Sands of Time, my heritage blog but I wanted to have somewhere I could record all my cross stitch projects, going back to the 1980’s when I first got hooked.

I’ve actually been working on it for the last few weeks but I’m nowhere near up to date as yet and still have loads to put on there so it’s really a work in progress at the moment.
If you’re interested in cross stitch and would like to see some of the projects I’ve stitched pop across to I’d Rather Be Stitchin……than in the kitchen!

Now then, Julia is mustering the troops again for another day of blog hopping in the name of What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday and my photo is duly taken and ready to show the world.

As you can see I’m attempting another page of the Heritage album and have been sorting out some photos of my Great Grandparents on my Father’s side of the family.
There are quite a few to choose from but most were either out of focus or had damage on them so I’ve had a play in Photoshop again and finished up with some pictures that will just about pass. I think I might be trying to be too fussy with them and have to keep reminding myself that we are lucky to have the photos in the first place. I'm sure that whoever inherits the albums in years to come will be only to pleased to see the slightly out of focus pictures of their ancestors.

I’m still not entirely sure what I’m doing with the LO and am making it up as I go along Lol, but I’m using some of the lovely TPC Studio and Pink Paislee ink resist papers that Lythan brought me for my birthday.

Watch this space to see what evolves!

One thing I had planned to do thought was add some black filigree hands to the clock face.
I’ve been saving a pair to use on a LO and they’ve been kicking around on my desk for ages but do you think I can find the darn things now I want to use them. They must be here somewhere so it looks like the rest of the day is going to be spent searching for them.

Well, thanks for dropping in on me this week and for all the lovely messages last week but before I go I need to announce who the winner of the Holly Mask is.
I made a list of the people who voiced an interest in winning it, put all the names in a bowl and picked one at random.

And the lucky winner is…………….
Claire.

Email me Here Claire with your details and I’ll get it in the post to you as soon as I can.

Enjoy your blog hopping and I’ll see you all soon.

Happy Crafting!

Sue

Love the old photos Sue and will aim to pop over to your cross stitch blog later.....we used to do a lot of cross stitch here as a family and our then about 10yr old daughter was commissioned to do a cross stitch pic for a church in USA and it was featured in a magazine :-)
Hugs,

Fun WOYWW post. You have been busy, 2 blogs and working with Heritage Photos..great plan, I love old photos and need to spend some time with mom identifying..
Wonderful 80's here this week. Little creatures are heading south, bees, hummingbirds, butterflies, and LOTS of varieties of birds we normally don't have. They stay a day or 2 and off they go. Hoping to get a few pictures
Have a great week

I loved your new blog, especially the title! Lol!! I've done a fiar bit of cross stitch in my time, so it was interesting to see different kits. I loved that blackwork, really loved it. Might have to dig out my old aida and do some. Photoshop is amazing, my DH has been rescuing some old family photos and what he's done is spectacular!

Hi Sue, not sure what Blogger is up to at the moment but I am getting at least 4 copies of your messages. Don't get me wrong - I would rather have four than none. With your old photos, I have found in the past that they sometimes become clearer when you put them into sepia. I am trying to add most of mine into the Family Tree Maker program with all the dates, stories etc, which I can pass on to other members of the family to ensure its safety.

I hope you find those clock hands!
The layout will be stunning... you can surely see that already. I love old photographs - I have so many of long-gone relations and ancestors... I just wish they'd put their flippin' names on the back of the photographs!

Hi Sue, sorry I'm screeching in late this week for WOYWW. But here I be and I just love those family photos - how lucky to have them, and you're so right, the focus will be forgotten in generations to come. Special treasures for sure. I now need to go and peek at your cross stitch - busy, busy :)) Di xx

I've had a lovely time browsing through your stitching blog, Sue. I was a xstitcher long before paperprafting took over and love the Lavender and Lace designs so it was a real treat to see your finished pictures. I last picked up my current project last Christmas!!!!!
Your desk looks very busy as always this week and those photos are amazingly clear. Photoshop is a godsend when it comes to old pictures isn't it.
Happy WOYWW

Love your old photographs ... I have a few and I treasure them ... I don't mind that they look a bit well-loved which is just as well as I'm useless at tweeking them beyond changing them to sepia colour if I think it will look better on the layout. Like the masking you've done on the paper and look forward to seeing the finished page. Hope you have a good week. Elizabeth x #75
