What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Once again Julie is asking ‘what’s on our work desk’ and because I’ve not joined in for the last couple of weeks I thought I would make the effort and join in.
It’s more a case that I actually remembered to do it today because I have a mind like a sieve just lately and keep forgetting things.

Anyway, on my work desk today is the remains of a Basic Grey card kit that I had brought for me as a birthday pressie.

I think the cards are lovely, and the kits are perfect for someone just starting out card making but if I’m honest, I have found it a little restricting. Only because all the mats are already cut and all you have to do is push them out and stick them onto the cards but I’ve added a few extras to my cards in the way of bling, brads and ribbons to make them a little more my own.

Next week there could be my purchases from IKIA on my work desk if I’m back in time, but if not I’ll see you the week after………..if I remember. Lol!

What a fab bunch of cards you've made with the kit Sue.

My desk is quite tidy for a change this week - well about as tidy as it ever gets ie you can see the work mat

Love a desk that is a work in progress! Your cards are all totally fab. Am with you on the restriction, but it doesn't seem to have hampered you at all. Are htose little teeny beads in the round wheel like container?

Stunning card's Sue I have looked at those kits but never bought one as I always think I will get more use from the 12x12 pad which is a similar price (see my devilish tight crafty mind working out the pennies !! Lol) but the card you have produced with it really do look beautiful
Thanks for sharing and letting us nose around your desk too
Love Susie xx

Kits are a fun idea but if you are creative, it doesn't take long to feel restricted. The BG ones are pretty though and you have made them your own with additions.

I had one of those BG birthday kits too. I saw you on the What's on ... after going there because someone else mentioned it. Nice to come and visit again - love your shabby chic for DCM. I haven't been visiting here for a long while - John's been ill and my crafting/blogging time restricted, but I'm beginning to pick up the threads again. Love and hugs. x

I have the same kit and totally agree. First thought was how lovely but then I was amazed at how thin the card blanks are, they are totally 'all the thinking done for you' and, living in France and the sentiments all being English/American and generally 'not me', I won't be using many of them.
Having seen your lovely examples I will try to add a bit more of me and get them finished.
